Little Drum Solar Farm

Welcome to the project website for Grupotec’s proposal to develop a solar farm south-east of Kirkcudbright.

We have submitted a planning application to Dumfries & Galloway Council and the application was validated in early January 2025, with reference number 24/2616/FUL.  We would like to take this opportunity to thank local residents and community representatives for their input and feedback on the proposal to date.

An opportunity to view the application documents and make a formal representation can be made to Dumfries & Galloway Council via the Council’s Planning Portal, using reference 24/2616/FUL - please visit the ‘Documents’ page for a number of the planning application documents.

The proposal, if consented and constructed, will be able to supply the equivalent electricity needs of over 11,000 homes.

Consultation

We held two consultation events on 5th September 2024 and 8th October 2024 at The Johnston, Kirkcudbright. Please visit the ‘Consultation’ Tab for more information.

We are committed to using the local supply chain and, should the project be consented, we plan to organise ‘Meet the Developer’ events to allow local construction and maintenance companies to find out about opportunities to help deliver the development.
